Moments of Gratitude:
* For the big storm not really being so big
* The bright sunshine 2 DAYS IN A ROW!!
* A friend who brought a wonderful lunch just because we were watching her boys.
* My wonderful daughter and the 19 years that God has given us with her so far.
* A couple of really tasty dinners and desserts (birthday and baptismal feast day dispensations :) this week.
* A nice dinner with our Pastor.
* Homemade laundry soap that turned out!
In the Kitchen:
This weekend we made a cherry pie for my daughter's birthday and it was yummy. We looked back at some pictures and realized that she's been having cherry pie for her birthday since she turned 10. That's okay, most of us look forward to it now! We also had lasagna that tasted extra good this time. The dessert Ms 17 yo picked for her baptismal feast day was an Oreo cheesecake that looked like a quiche but fortunately tasted better than that. I wasn't thrilled with the texture of it, however, as it seemed a bit rubbery for my liking.
The Week Ahead:
The first week of the month always seems extra busy for some reason. This week we have our monthly hour at Planned Parenthood as well as club for some of the girls. That, along with the usual ballet classes and regular running should fill the week up nicely. Oh, and we're expecting another snow storm on Tuesday. We'll see if it ends up to be anything this time. Finally, we are all looking forward to Ms 20 yo's boyfriend coming in to town on Friday night for 10 days. It will be a nice change of pace!
Pondering:
An idea I had for a mini-retreat for my girls based on a book called "Life Work: Finding Your Purpose in Life". I'd like us to go away somewhere quiet for two days and work and pray through the book. Need to ponder some more and figure out the best way to work this out.
Praying:
For our two nephews who are still recovering, for so many people who are suffering with sick loved ones and those who have lost a loved one so unexpectedly. For my great aunt who is 92, almost blind and just wants to go home to the Lord, but just keeps on ticking.
Reading:
Just finished "Drinking from the Dry Well" and I'm glad it was filled with so much Ignatian spirituality since I'm very familiar with that. I'm thinking it is time to tackle "The Interior Castle" by St. Teresa of Avila which some moms are reading for a Lenten book study but which I have yet to begin. Fortunately I'm only about 3 weeks behind!

Oh that picture is absolutely bursting with happiness and love! Thank you for sharing it. I have not read anything I can recall of St Teresa. I have, I think it's called, In Conversation with Christ. After Theresa's comment above about how easy St Teresa is to read, I may pull it out and give it a try.
