My First GIVEAWAY!!!

To start the new year off on a good note, I thought it might be fun to try my first giveaway!

All you have to do to enter is to leave a comment and tell me if you've ever done a unit study before.  If you'd like to give some details, that would be even better.  If you've never done one, would you like to?  What has stopped you from doing one in the past?  In other words, let me know what you think of unit studies.

You have from now until Saturday, January 7th at 11:59 am.  Saturday afternoon I will use a random number generator to pick a winner and the winner will win...

A free download of my St. Ignatius unit study.

This unit study is adaptable for all grade levels.  Obviously the older the student, the more in depth they can get.  That's the nice thing about unit studies...they can work however you need them to!

This way if you've always wanted to try one or you've never tried one, you have nothing to lose!  If you've done them before, here is a chance to do another one for free.

Here's your chance to learn all about St. Ignatius and the Renaissance Era.  This unit study encompasses history, art, writing, vocabulary and much more.

Remember...leave me a comment and you'll be entered!

  1. We are going to be homeschooling next year...and in my research have found unit studies to be such a fantastic fit to the way my children learn. We haven't done any formal unit studies yet--but have definately done informal unit studies in the way we live and explore life. One morning I was making scrambled eggs--and from the ingredients I used--we started to learn about farms. It was such an easy 'transition' and the kids were so fascinated. At the end of our breakfast...the kids wanted to go visit a farm! I told them "Did you guys realize we just learned?" And they look at each other and were so excited that they learned without even realizing it. lol. That is what I love about unit studies--is that it really opens up learning to be more 'real life'. Life is to be experienced with as many senses as possible...and that is what is so attractive to me.

So now, my kiddos know that eggs, milk and cheese do not come from 'the store' but rather from animals that God has given us. :)

  2. What a great idea! I would love to be entered.

We have never done a formal unit study but have tried to "tie things together" along the way. That really is the goal of education, isn't it? Making connections...making things matter.
