Theme Thursday - Water

Water, water, water.  Oh the many pictures that I have that involve water, which made picking some very difficult.  We love water - swimming in it, boating on it, splashing it, watching it flow past our house when it rains too much, seeing it flow out of the bottom of the walls in the basement...okay, so I got carried away with that last one.

Needles to say, I have a lot of pictures of water, but in reality, as soon as I saw the theme I knew which pictures I wanted to use.  I took these last year when we went as a family to a park during our vacation.  I love playing around with my camera and trying different things, so here's some of what I took that day.

Hop on over to Clan Donaldson to see other fun water pictures!

God Bless!

  4. Your choice is excellent. Your link is the first one I wanted to pick. Now the mandatory question: what camera and lens do you use? And what were the settings?

    1. I have my trusty ole Canon Rebel with a Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens on it. All three were shot in AP mode (before I learned to shoot in manual!) with an aperture of 5.6 and an ISO of 400. I Had to double check myself, but I did in fact post the ones that hadn't been edited. Thanks for the compliment!

    2. You were very right and have a good eye! My Canon Rebel is from 2006, at least!

Now an amateur question: I'm surprised you got such a pretty and shallow depth of field with a 5.6 aperture. Does that have something to do with your lens? Thanks so much for indulging me.

    3. After you said that about the shallow depth of field I went back to look at them again. I have to agree with you about how that worked out at 5.6, and I'm thinking it had something to do with the focal points, too, because on both of the first two there was only one focal point in use. I can't remember if that was on purpose or if that is the way my finicky camera chose to work that day, seeing as how it was almost a year ago.

I know so much more than I did a year ago, that these have more "luck" to them than actual planning and strategy :)
